Two chaplains recently joined our ministry team to offer additional spiritual support and resident care on campus. After joining the CRISTA Family, Cathy Taylor, one of our newest chaplains, said, “I was shocked and amazed in a good way by how devoted the staff are to their residents. They don’t sit around and talk about them; they talk with each other in order to make the resident’s lives better, and they do this for hours every day – and they troubleshoot, they meet with the residents, they are available, ready at the drop of the hat to go to their room and solve a problem. There are so many areas of responsibility, and the people know who to contact if they need help and they will be helped. The people who serve there are so experienced in senior living, and they’re so professional and devoted. They are myopic when it comes to the residents – they drop everything to meet this need, whatever it is. It’s like a church retreat every day.”
