January 17, 2018 @ 6:45 pm - 8:00 pmFREE
Are You In the “Zone?” The Blue Zone that is! Question: What do Sardinia Italy, Ikaria Greece, Okinawa Japan, Nicoya Costa Rica and Loma Linda California all have in common?
Answer: They’re all in the Blue Zones – the 5 regions of the world found to have the longest living and thriving individuals.
Jennifer Fry, gerontologist, and healthy aging advisor, discusses healthy living and longevity and what we know from the Blue Zones. She works with individuals and groups, guiding positive healthy choices for aging and living well. Jennifer is no stranger to CRISTA. She spent 11 years working at CRISTA Broadcasting in the early 90’s, and her father Jack Faulkner is one of our residents in Chestnut Court.
This will be an interactive time, so come prepared to join in the conversation, take home a few Blue Zone tips and share your own healthy ideas! So … how do they do it? What are their secrets to long and healthy lives, and more importantly, is there anything you can learn from them and apply to your life? YES! The good news is you don’t have to travel to one of the Blue Zones to reap the healthy benefits practiced by Blue Zoners. Come join us for a fascinating discovery into the Blue Zones. Learn what Dan Buettner, researcher from National Geographic found to be the common characteristics people share that have increased years in their life as well as life in their years.
