The prayer that changed the World = Highlights from Jesus’ High Priestly prayer in John 17. This is what Jesus prayed for His disciples and for us. And, this is how we can pray for others in 2019:
Vs 11 “Keep them in Thy Name”: God’s Name refers to His character/nature as revealed in scripture. “The Name of the Lord is a strong tower.” Prov. 18:10. Main thought: Keep our focus on Who God is!
Vs 15 “Keep them from the evil one.” Main thought: Pray for discernment and victory in the spiritual battles of life!
Vs 17 ‘Keep them in the Truth, Your word is truth.” Jesus said we are to “abide” (revolve our life around, continue in, remain) in God’s Word. Main thought: We need God’s Word, each day, in order to win in life!
Vs 21, 23 “Keep them in Unity”. Praying for unity builds unity and drives out the attacks of Satan to bring division. Main thought: Division devours but unity empowers…Pray for unity!
Vs 23b, 26 “Keep them in Your love.” Main thought: Focus on God’s continual and unstoppable love for you and make it your #1 goal in life to excel in loving others.
These are 5 specific and simple prayers you can pray each day for your family, friends, church and others that will help you win in prayer in 2019.
“The effective prayers of a righteous person can accomplish much”. James 5:17
