Meet Julie Currie

Meet Julie Currie

April 14, 2019

In celebration of International Guitar Month, we’d like for you to meet some of our pretty phenomenal staff here on campus. Julie Currie has been working for CRISTA Senior Living as Life Enrichment Coordinator since 2018.

She started singing with her mom at the age of 5 and began playing the guitar and singing for retirement communities at the age of 7. You could say that her passion for music started very early! Julie’s extensive and diverse background is captured in the following personal and career milestones:

  • Wrote first song age 12
  • Toured 30 of 50 states in one summer singing at age 16
  • Auditioned for Star Search in 1980 and America’s Got Talent in 2011
  • Completed BS degree in Forensic Science and Criminal Justice 2012
  • 2015 started her own business called “Miracles in Music and Theater”
  • Singer songwriter with Project WON recording studio 2016
  • Began working as a Senior Living Activity Director and was blessed to utilize her talents to inspire older adults to know no matter age, ability, or disability, God can use their time and talent for his service
  • VIP award from SHINE for top female actress age 30 and over with Actors Models and Talents for Christ 2017
  • 2018 hired as the Garden Life Enrichment Coordinator for CRISTA Senior Living. Who would have thought that you can work at a job where you get to bless others with you gifts, what you love to do, and share that common bond of serving Jesus too.
  • Recent actress cast for the movie POWERLESS filming in Washington (A film based on addiction and recovery)
  • Desires to be an inspiration to help others find their talents. Once they find their talent encourage them to sever others with the love of Jesus.  This is what I call “pay it forward talent scout” inspiring others to share their talents too.

We’re grateful for Julie’s service here within the CRISTA community!
